    Pressure regulators to accurately convert varying or constant excessive upstream pressures to a predetermined maximum downstream pressure in systems handling highly corrosive or ultra-pure liquids.

    Pressure Information: Maximum inlet pressure rating is 150 psi at 75°F. Adjustable downstream range is 5 to 50 psi. Higher set pressure model PRH is available with 30 to 125 PSI range.

    Pressure regulators can also be used to maintain a constant pressure in a tank. Some tank applications cannot exceed certain pressures due to the tank construction or tank equipment. A pressure regulator, when preset to a certain pressure, will prevent excessive pressure.

    CAUTION: Avoid quick closing valve downstream of a regulator to eliminate “water hammer” shock that can cause breakage.

    Plast-O-Matic Series PRH-U Pressure Regulators are designed to handle corrosive and ultra-pure liquids with inlet pressures up to 150 PSI at 75°F. Standard downstream set pressure range is 10 to 125 PSI. The normally-open regulators incorporate a poppet seat at the valve orifice to prevent sticking and affecting the sensing of the downstream line pressure. Also, one piece body construction and dual U-cup shaft seals help to eliminate internal leakage that could cause the set pressure to creep beyond a safe limit. A unique, large-surface, rolling diaphragm seal isolates the spring chamber from downstream pressure sensing liquid. This unique design, in conjunction with a pressure balanced shaft, assures smooth performance and stable control.

    Series PRD is a differential pressure regulator based on Series PR with two threaded ports. One port is for a downstream pressure sensing line, the other is fitted with a bleed screw to exhaust air from the housing. Otherwise, design is identical to Series PR. The sensing line feeds the pressure downstream (P3) of the equipment being protected to the top of the spring housing (also P3). This pressure assists the spring in keeping the regulator open against the pressure directly at the regulator outlet (P2). When pressure downstream begins to drop (as it would when a filter becomes more and more clogged), the regulator begins to close and becomes fully closed when the differential setting is reached. This assures against overpressure across the bank of filters or whatever the equipment may be. The differential pressure setting is P2 minus P3.

    • Pressure setting is infinitely adjustable from 5 psi to 50 psi.

    Designed for highly corrosive and ultra-pure chemicals, this pressure regulator uses compressed air to control pressure with greater accuracy as compared to standard spring-controlled models. Sizes 1/4", 1/2" and 3" are Series PRA; sizes 3/4", 1", 1 1/2" and 2" are Series PRAM.

    Pressure regulators provide protection for valuable downstream instruments and filtration systems by converting fluctuating or excessive inlet pressure to a preset maximum downstream pressure. The PRA/PRAM will routinely handle inlet pressure up to 150 PSI and accurately maintain a downstream pressure from 5 to 125 PSI.

    The design of the PRA/PRAM features two opposing large area frictionless rolling diaphragms. Process pressure is applied to one of the diaphragms; air pressure is applied to the other. Because the air pressure can be maintained with more accuracy than the force provided by a spring, the PRA/PRAM offers greater sensitivity and less variance from set pressure than any thermoplastic pressure regulator previously available. The PRA/PRAM can be used in combination with Plast-O-Matic's patented Stabilizer which measures downstream liquid pressure and provides continuous feedback control for even greater sensitivity and performance. The Stabilizer is described in detail below.
