Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is one of the most broadly used thermoplastic materials, common to many industries. PVC is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. It can be easily installed for chemical distribution and drainage, service piping, and irrigation systems. Compared with Schedule 80 systems, Schedule 40 PVC pipe and fittings are a lower-cost alternative for applications with lower pressures but requiring the same thermal and chemical resistance.

    Application:

    • Similar to Schedule 80 PVC, but with lower pressure ratings in exchange for reduced cost:
    • process cooling water
    • vacuum lines
    • waste collection
    • chemical delivery

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is one of the most broadly used thermoplastic materials common to many industries. PVC is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. PVC Schedule 80 applications are frequently used for chilled water systems, chemical processing, industrial plating, and chemical drainage systems. Thermoplastic PVC (polyvinyl chloride) systems are light, flexible, tough and provide exceptional corrosion resistance. Because of these and other properties of a high quality engineered thermoplastic, the savings that can be realized in initial installation and continuing maintenance costs are substantial.

    Application:

    • process cooling water
    • vacuum lines
    • waste collection
    • chemical delivery

Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) is simultaneously light, flexible, tough, and exceptionally corrosion-resistant. CPVC is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. With its ability to withstand higher temperatures than PVC applications, CPVC is used in media temperatures up to 210°F (intermittently) and can typically be found in hot water systems, hot acid distribution, and waste systems. Thermoplastic CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) systems are light, flexible, tough and provide exceptional corrosion resistance. Because of these and other properties of a high quality engineered thermoplastic, the savings that can be realized in initial installation and continuing maintenance costs are substantial.

    Application:

    • process hot water
    • elevated temperature vacuum lines
    • elevated temperature waste collection
    • elevated temperature chemical delivery

Industry has been assessed clean-up expenditures which far exceed the costs to install protective measures. When penalties and fines are added to the costs of cleaning up spills and leaks, it becomes obvious that industry has a legal and financial responsibility for protecting our environment. George Fischer’s Secondary Containment System provides the necessary environmental protection at a fraction of potential clean-up costs. The system includes many features which yield benefits to the owner, engineer and installer. The retrofit capability and chemical resistance of Contain-It make this an ideal choice for containment piping of chemical process lines. Advantages •economical split pipe and fittings (solid pipe available) •fits over virtually any carrier system •lightweight and easy to install •clear construction for visual leak detection •outstanding chemical and corrosion resistance

  • geoFusealPPgrpImage

Fuseal is resistant to the corrosive action of alkalis, alcohols, acids, solvents and salt solutions. Dilute mineral acids and aqueous solutions of acid salts, which are so destructive to most metals, have no affect on the Fuseal system. In general, Fuseal is attacked only by strong oxidizing acids and weakened by certain organic solvents and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Fuseal will not rust, pit, scale, corrode or be affected by electrolysis. Excellent chemical and physical properties make the system ideal for handling corrosive waste solutions present in laboratory and industrial DWV applications.

    Fields of Application:

    • corrosive waste drainage
    • life science
    • microelectronics
    • chemical process industry
    • ship building
    • food & beverage

  • geoDBLSEE

This vinyl double containment piping system is fast and easy to install, and is available with a complete selection of pipe, fittings, and valves. Additionally, an innovative "valve-in-valve" design is offered which allows full containment pressure rating. Double-See™ is available in PVC and CPVC; either material may be primary or secondary (PVC x PVC, CPVC x PVC, CPVC x CPVC) with Clear PVC always being an option for the containment pipe. System size options range from 1/2" x 2" to 6" x 10", meeting virtually any application requirement. Installation versatility allows simultaneous joining throughout a system or in combination with patented closure couplings which enable practical compliance with the ASME B31.3 requirement for visual inspection of all primary joint connections during the pressure test before closing the secondary piping joint.

Double containment piping systems are ideal for ensuring safety when transporting corrosive, toxic, or otherwise hazardous media.

When a leak from the primary pipeline occurs in a double containment system, the fluid is safely contained by the secondary pipe. End-users typically implement a leak detection system to alert operators when a leak has occurred.

These systems can be used in multiple applications, primarily for handling chemical and effluent water transfers.
